    If you are looking for a good local bar , this is it. This is the bar we all know and love even though most wont admit it. If you are looking for a no fuss , nothing fancy drink, this is your place.

    Fantastic bar. Has a good selection and a mostly enclosed but still outside air flowing room for smoking and vaping that is pretty peaceful because they don't play music in there. Makes it easy to actually have good conversations while you drink. In the main section they have pool tables and a really good jukebox with a very large selection. They have made improvements to the bathroom that are extremely nice to see. The staff all seems friendly and content. Has a very cozy feeling and is apparently a staple of the area.

    Serving Cardiff for over 50 years, the Shanty is an institution. Here you'll find a mix of regulars, campers from near by San Elijo looking for a drink, and a younger crowd making the rounds. They offer pool tables, good music, very reasonably priced drinks (a rare commodity these days), as well as a welcoming staff. And recently they started taking credit cards. I know there are mixed feelings on that one, but it is worth knowing.

    Good local dive bar. 2 pool tables, foozeball table and a covered smoking section. Great place!
